HapMap Data Freezes for Publications

HapMap SNPs, their characteristics and genotype data are available in the directory /downloads/genotypes/ on the project download site.

These data are being constantly scrutinized to identify both experimental and bioinformatic errors that may lead to a small portion of the data being of low quality or be incorrect. Consequently, new releases are released after these issues have been addressed.

The releases of the Phase II data are:

• Data Release #21: released July 2006. This release contains all processed data from the HapMap project, and includes all data from phases I+II of the project. This release also contains genotypes from the Affymetrix 500k genotyping array. This dataset was used to generate the phased haplotypes, recombination rates and hotspot datasets.
• Data Release #21a: released January 2007. In addition to the above data, this release also contains genotypes from the Illumina Infinium 100k and 300k genotyping arrays, Affymetrix nsSNPs, and SNPs typed for a high-resolution map (De Bakker et al. 2006) of the extended MHC locus. Analyses described in the latest HapMap phaseII paper refers to release 21a.

• Data Release #16c.1: released June 2005. Fixes two issues in 16c .
• Data Release #16c: released June 2005. Fixes all known issues found in previous releases.
• Data Release #16b: released May 2005. See changelog for info on fixed problems and other changes since release 16a.
• Data Release #16a: released March 2005. See errata for information on known issues in this release.
